The Tube, the Gas, and the Base
The tube is quartz, plain and simple. It can handle the extreme heat from the filament inside and lets infrared pass through with no problem. Inside, halogen gas does its magic—slowing down filament evaporation so it lasts longer, and letting it run hotter for steady output. That coating on the tube? Not just for looks.
