And you won’t have to run a separate low-voltage power supply just to make it work.
Technical Deep-Dive
Here’s the beauty of it: you plug it straight into standard industrial power. It comes in common voltages like 230V or 400V, and the power rating matches the heat load you’re dealing with. The quartz tube is short—often around 300mm—so it slips into crowded tooling without forcing you to redesign the whole machine footprint. It packs a lot of wattage into a small space, which gives you serious heat density. That’s powerful, but it also means the parts around it need to be okay with a noticeable rise in local temperature.
Material & Design
Inside, the halogen-filled quartz envelope keeps the filament stable even at high temperatures, so output stays consistent over the service interval. The tube is coated to manage infrared emission and help keep surface contamination down while it runs. Then there’s the R7s connector—a bi-pin end-cap fit that locks the lamp in place and carries current through solid contacts. It’s designed so you can wire it up fast and swap lamps right on the shop floor without tearing fixtures apart.
Application & Benefits
On the line, this plug-in heater shines when you need rapid, focused heat—think plastic forming, sealing, adhesive curing, and drying small components. Because of the short tube and the direct-connect R7s interface, it’s an easy drop-in replacement when you’re upgrading or replacing aging heaters in existing tooling. Now, the trade-off is that the heat is concentrated. So you do need to plan cooling and clearance carefully, so nearby sensors and wiring don’t get baked.
