We wanted to get rid of that headache. Instead of soldering the elements directly into the main power bus, we went with a modular setup. Think of the heating tubes as being in their own little cassettes. When a tube goes, you don’t have to tear the whole machine apart. You just pop the module out, swap the tube, and slide it back in. The Trade-offs (Because nothing is perfect)
Keeping things waterproof means using tight gaskets. The problem? That traps heat right where the connectors live. To stop those parts from melting or wearing out over time, we used high-temp ceramics and reinforced terminals. One thing to watch out for, though: since we use modules instead of one long soldered wire, there are more connection points.
