It’s a brutal place for a heater to live. Most of them just can’t hack it—the filaments burn out or the circuits short. We wanted something that actually lasts. Most people try those chemical sprays that claim to stop the fog, but those wear off in a week. We took a different route. We use shortwave infrared tech to heat the glass itself. By keeping the mirror just a bit warmer than the air around it, the moisture simply can’t settle. It’s basic physics, but it works. No sprays, no wiping, just a clear view the second you need it. We seal every heating element and wiring junction with high-temperature silicone gaskets. We’re talking about a tight, airtight seal that hits strict IP ratings. It means when you’re splashing water around during your morning routine, the internals stay bone-dry. No shorts, no tripped breakers, no worrying about whether you left the shower curtain open too wide. The balancing act Here is the tricky part: heat. Sure, if you crank up the wattage, the mirror clears faster. But if you dump too much heat into one tiny spot, you risk “thermal shock.” That’s a fancy way of saying the glass could actually crack. We spent a lot of time figuring out the sweet spot—balancing the wattage so the glass expands evenly. (Just a heads-up: make sure your mirror is tempered or rated for heat, otherwise, you’re playing a risky game with stress fractures). To make it even tougher, we use quartz glass envelopes for the elements. Quartz handles the constant heating and cooling way better than the cheap stuff.
